Herbs for Diabetes Workshop

$65.00

– Sold Out

Join us for a hands-on herbal medicine workshop where you'll learn the essentials of managing diabetes with clinically proven plants!

Diabetes is the wreaking havoc in our community with African Americans being 60% more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes than whites and many more remaining undiagnosed.

Ultra-processed foods, high stress, and sedentary lifestyles are a few of the contributing forces that lead to pre-diabetes and diabetes diagnosis.

Luckily, there are many herbs that help with prevention, support, and reversal when combined with healthy habits.

During our time together you'll learn:

  • An overview of how your body manages balanced glucose and insulin levels, what disrupts this balance and what happens when the body struggles to manage itself properly
  • Herbs for insulin resistance, glucose management, immunity, and heart health
  • Delicious and simple food swaps and healthy sugar substitutions
  • Mindful exercises for managing stress, so you learn to healthily ride the temporary emotional waves instead of reach for sugar-spiking food
  • Food and herbs available at the Dekalb Farmer's Market that support optimal health
  • How to understand nutrition and ingredient labels, so you don't get duped by clever marketing
  • Actually healthy sugar substitutes that are whole foods not ingredients isolated and derived from plants that have harmful long-term side effect

Together we'll make medicine, sip tea, chat and develop a 3-month plan to lower your A1c in time for your next doctor's visit!
