Chamomile & Courage

Chamomile & Courage
I have a dear friend whom I’ve known for almost 20 years and she said to Tami and, I “I really want to join your program. And I need to because it’s going to transform my life in the exact ways I need. But…I’m not ready to make the changes I know I’ll have to make.”

Ahhhh…exhale if you can relate. No lie, healing is big work. And built into healing is the requirement that we change. We know we’re going to have to change something. Every time we step forward toward the future we’re called to, we’re also creating distance between ourselves and the things and people we need to leave behind. It’s scary.

And’s that why the first course in our Healing Prix Fixe Menu is Courage.

Courage is doing something scared. Each step of the way on your healing journey you’ll need this key ingredient because it keeps you moving forward, making your next right decision. When we act with courage, we pay homage to our ancestors, whose decisions allow us to exist.

Courage also builds confidence. When we make big changes, whether it’s changing our diets, setting new boundaries, leaving an unfulfilling relationship, or communicating how we really feel, we always worry beforehand. We try to anticipate how it’s going to work out and wonder if we’ll be ok.

But with courage as your ally, you do the scary thing and no matter the result, you do end up ok and usually better for it. And then you have this amazing memory to recall the next time you have to do something new, scared.

I don’t know about you, but I feel like I’m always uncomfortable. But I also have these big wins, like healing trauma, which allowed me to create an amazing family for myself and discover my calling. If I didn’t make this huge leap to face my pain, I would not be here today. So every time I have to do something else new and scary, I call on courage because I know it’ll be more than worth it.

Everything works out for your highest good.

And courage means we’re willing to trust the good possibilities of the unknown rather than be paralyzed by the predictability of our current path of pain.

Courage says, “I don’t need to hit rock bottom, I don’t need a crisis, or a tragedy to happen for me to change. I can embrace what’s required with grace.”

Want to know the herb I use to help me with courage? Chamomile. Peace washes over me just thinking about chamomile. And it just so happens that my name means Peaceful One, so when I tell you Chamomile helps me come back to myself, I mean that in a very literal sense. It settles the nerves, quiets the worrisome thoughts, and slows the butterflies, so I can take my next right step…scared.

May you discover your courage with Chamomile and take your next right step on your healing journey, knees knocking and all. You are going to be more than ok and you are supported beyond measure.

See you tomorrow for Appetizer #2!

Love you big,
Selima & Tami
