I recently spoke with a client who’s been receiving iron IV injections, but she wanted to stop getting the infusions because she didn’t want her body to "get used to them."
I know first-hand the hesitation we have when it comes to medical procedures, drugs, and IVs. Because we hear so often about deleterious drug side-effects, I think many people are skeptical of everything their doctor prescribes. In fact, I've felt the same way as my client when the doctor told me to take iron pills years ago and said, "I ain't taking that." It's because at the time, I didn't understand.
Trust issues with the medical industry justified, but set aside, when your provider prescribes iron pills or infusions and you’re hesitant, this is a great time to ask more questions.
It was clear from the conversation I had with my client that she just didn’t understand how the injections were supporting her, so that's what we're talking about in today's video.
