Last month I spent a week in residency at SPACE on Ryder Farm in Brewster New York. Aside from the very real separation anxiety I had being away from Tami and our son Niles for the first time ever, I had an amazing time being on the land, taking myself on plant walks, watching the snakes and bunnies, writing, connecting with the staff and other folks I was in residency with, resting and eating the most nourishing farm-to-table food I’ve ever had. I was so inspired by the food, I asked the chef and Residency Director Min Liao, if she’d be willing to chat with me on camera to discuss how she approaches cooking and healthy eating.

Today’s video is our short conversation where you’ll learn how to:

  • reframe cooking, so it doesn’t always feel like chore
  • prepare healthy, nutrient-dense meals on a budget
  • meal prep when you’re short on time
  • repurpose food without getting bored or wasting food
  • make better herbal medicine using culinary techniques (such a good tip!)
  • get your kids involved in cooking with you

Min is a highly experienced private chef and culinary consultant, so hearing her insight was hugely inspirational for me and I hope you feel the same.
