Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Formula

If you experience frequent and recurring urinary tract infections (UTI's), then make this herbal syrup. It’s shelf-stable and concentrated. A little goes a long way, so you’ll have it for a while. Consult your doc, save time, money, and spare your gut the damaging effects of drug antibiotics.

I ended up making this on a whim for a colleague and she reported nearly immediate improvement. 🙌🏽

Here’s the free recipe and purchase your herbs through us at iwillaremedy.com!

You'll need a kitchen scale to weigh your herbs. All of the herbs used in the formula have many more benefits than are being listed. I'm just giving you a snapshot of how they are supportive of healing UTI's and the purpose they are serving in this specific blend.

.50 oz Corn Silk - Cooling, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and demulcent to soothe the burn

.50 oz Uva Ursi - Has an affinity for the urinary tract, is anti-inflammatory, and astringent to check secretions

.33 oz Calendula - Antimicrobial and lymphatic (you always need lymphatic herbs to help clear toxins and pathogens)

.33 oz Echinacea Root - A systemic antimicrobial to fight the infection

.33 oz Valerian Root - Antispasmodic, analgesic, and nervine to relieve pain and anxiety that inevitably accompanies discomfort

Add the Echinacea and Valerian root to a large pot with 4 cups of water. Cover and bring to a boil, then turn the heat down to low. Let it simmer for 45 minutes, covered. Turn off the heat. Add remaining herb and allow to steep covered for another hour. Strain well and be sure to squeeze the liquid out of the wet herb. Measure the liquid, you need 1-1.5 cups (depends on if you’re going to sweeten). You may need to simmer longer to reduce to the desired amount of liquid. Pour into a 16-ounce jar. Add 1/2 cup alcohol (like Brandy, Vodka, Rum, or Whiskey) and 1/2 cup honey, if you’re using it. Label and take 1 tsp 3-6 times per day during acute active infection. If you refrain from alcohol, leave it out and freeze the liquid into ice cube trays, so you can take it easily as needed and preserve the rest.

It’s really important to remember with infections to continue taking the herbal medicine even after you “feel better” symptomatically to ensure that the pathogen is fully cleared. There’s no standard set of time, but taking it consistently for another 3-5 days could be a starting point depending on the condition and the severity of it.

Here's a quick video of me making the syrup, so you can see each step.

Xo,
Selima
